The following Payment Terms and Conditions apply to all services which are provided by The Village Medical Centre to its patients.

By enrolling with The Village Medical Centre, either as a permanent or as a casual patient, you agree to be bound by the following Payment Terms and Conditions:

1. Prices include GST unless otherwise stated.
2. Prices quoted for services may be adjusted from time to time, and the patient hereby agrees to pay any such adjusted price, e.g. in instances where cost of goods increases, government surcharges increase, errors or omissions by The Village Medical Centre or its representatives.
3. The Village Medical Centre reserves the right to charge patients for the time that its general practitioners spend making referrals, writing reports and completing forms beyond a patient’s allocated consultation time.
4. Unless otherwise agreed, all services (including repeat prescriptions), shall be paid for on the date of service i.e. on the day of your consultation (or on the date when your repeat prescription is requested as the case may be). Telephone consultations shall be paid for by patients at the time that they book their appointment.
5. Patients who are not currently enrolled at The Village Medical Centre permanently shall pay for the cost of their scheduled consultation at the time that they book their appointment. We reserve the right to retain any funds which have been paid in advance pursuant to this clause for late cancellation (less than 1 hour prior to a scheduled appointment) or for non-attendance. The cost of any additional services, beyond the cost a scheduled consultation which has been paid for in advance, shall be paid for by the patient on the date of service.
6. The Village Medical Centre reserves the right to charge patients the full cost of their scheduled consultation, including telephone consultations, for late cancellation (less than 1 hour prior to a scheduled appointment) or for non-attendance. Our fees for cancellation and for non-attendance are set out in the table below.
7. Payment shall be accepted in the form of cash, cheque, direct credit or direct debit.
8. Where it is agreed that payment need not be made on the date of service, payment shall be made within 7 days from the date on which the service was provided.
9. The Village Medical Centre may withhold further provision of service where there is any outstanding amount due.
10. Where patients are in breach of agreed Payment Terms and Conditions, The Village Medical Centre may disclose this information to debt collection agencies and legal proceedings may follow.
11. A $40.00 administration fee will be charged by The Village Medical Centre in relation to invoices which are overdue for payment by more than 30 days.
12. All costs which are incurred by The Village Medical Centre in order to recover any outstanding monies will be charged to the patient.
13. Termination of the contract of enrolment may apply where there is non-payment without prejudice to any claims which The Village Medical Centre may possess.
14. No goods which are supplied by The Village Medical Centre may be returned for credit.
15. Supply of goods for personal use will be covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
16. Variations to these Payment Terms and Conditions may occur from time to time, and any such variations will be reflected within the patient’s invoice.
